With the Caye Caulker Cannabis referendum a week away we asked the Minister of Human Development for her opinion on the legalization campaign, and whether she feels that something like this can impact those under the care and protection of her ministry. Here is how she responded.

"My own feelings are is that there is some use medicinally for cannabis and I would like to see those explored there are many modules around the world that could happen but I'm not sure Belize is ready for any of those but I am firm believer of democracy but it is what people decided what they want and we will have to deal with that at this ministry and across many other ministries we would have to deal with what people decide what they want to do We are already dealing with it, whether or not it's decriminalized, whether it's legalized."
