And we also asked Musa his thoughts on the police department not inviting the media to this year's National CompStat. Every year since the PUP took office, the media headed to Belmopan and had the opportunity to speak with the ComPol - who at the time was Chester Williams, and the former Home Affairs Minister. This time around, the new ComPol and new minister decided not to extend the invite. But Musa didn't offer any words of advice for his successor.
Kareem Musa, Minister of Labor
"I'm sure that, you will have an opportunity to interview Minister Mira and the Commissioner of Police on the results of last year and the CompStat statistics. And so, whether it's this week, next, I'm sure that you will come across them to interview them on those statistics. So I don't know what the reason was for them not inviting you, but I'm sure you'll have an opportunity to question them on that."
Courtney Menzies:
"But the fact is that they didn't invite us to this event that we're invited to every single year. It's for public transparency."
Kareem Musa, Minister of Labor
"So you should ask them why they didn't invite you."
Courtney Menzies:
"You wouldn't give them any advice?"
Kareem Musa, Minister of Labor
"I just like spending time with you. So I always invite you. it's my birthday and I'm spending time with you."
