But even with his music career apparently back on track, Barrow has not relinquished his political ambitions here in Belize. And he didn't miss a chance to criticize the current UDP leadership, saying something is "terribly wrong":

Shyne Barrow, Rapper/Former Leader of The Opposition

"Have never given up on politics, but politics is local. I have my Mother's Day celebration coming up on Sunday, but I've been doing that for 12 years now. Before I was elected, while I was elected, and even after I lost my seat last year, I did it. I will do it again. I'm here for maybe a week or so. I will go around and see my colleagues in the different constituencies, because from what I've been reading, the UDP has gone lower than it was, and they claim it was under me. I see Omar Figueroa resign. I see the former party chairman since Dean Barrow, since Patrick Faber. He wants nothing to do with the UDP. Something is terribly wrong with my party, and I cannot stomach to just allow it to continue to go into the abyss. I need to go and see what colleagues are thinking and how we can get things together. That is a service to my country. That is as a patriot. The people in Mesopotamia will decide whether or not I return to the House of Representatives, but should they have me or not, I will always dedicate myself to uplifting the people in Mesopotamia. I will always dedicate myself to a strong democracy, and so I'm here to serve Belize. I'm working on my resorts, Brooklyn Chophouse, all types of things, so I have my hands full. But however I can serve my country, I am here to serve my country."
