And perhaps helping him to do that are his close PUP friends, who seem to have a common enemy: the current UDP leadership. He says the friendships are genuine not opportunistic:

"My friendships are genuine friendships. And the basis of my friendships politically is what is best for the country. And what is best for the country is the same thing. The people that stole the UDP from me hijacked political gangsterism at its peak. Only to run it further into the ground, to further ostracize people, to further divide the party. More so, I would have never think Omar Figueroa would have resigned in disgust of being persecuted by this new leadership. So, we need to rescue the UDP by all means."
