And Minister of State Osmond Martinez, looks like he's the special envoy to ASR - the American Sugar Refiners multinational which owns BSI. Last week we showed you how they toured him around Washington and this week's release shows him touring visiting the ASR owned Florida Crystals milling operation facilities in Okeelanta, Florida, on December 11th. He was hosted by Luis J. Fernandez, President of ASR.
A release adds, quote, "The purpose of the visit was to understand the many advances and synergies that ASR can bring to the northern sugar industry in Belize."
The release adds that Martinez and Fernandez discussed a road map for the revival of the Northern Belize sugar industry, based on the recent Commission of Inquiry outcomes and ASR's sustainability model, quote, "to make it viable and profitable for all industry stakeholders in the future."
