And while that operation went very wrong - the police say they were all on the right when they went to stop a boat party before it left the Princess Pier in Belize City on Saturday morning.
Seems someone was having a boat party aboard the "Pan Di Joyride" catamararan.
But, that's not allowed under COVID regs, and police went pout there to stop it. Compol Chester says he gave them the order:
Chester Williams - Commissioner of Police
"On Saturday morning I received information about this party boat on Princess pier. I immediately called the police in Belize City and directed them to go to the location and intercept the boat and to ensure that all those persons and the organizers on the boat are arrest and charged for breach of the quarantine regulation. We have been hearing for some time now about these party boats going out, we have seen the video footage as to what happen on these boats, the reckless behavior of people, consuming alcohol, socializing, doing all sort of things on these boats, so it is activities like these that currently have us in the position that we are where we are seeing that the numbers of infection as it relates to COVID is rising and so as a department we are doing our best to see how we can assess the ministry of health and wellness to mitigate the spread of this virus."
