Police are investigating a daring and well orchestrated daylight robbery in northern Belize that occurred late yesterday morning.

Around 11:00, officers responded to reports of a robbery along the Belize-Corozal Road in the Orange Walk District. When they arrived, they found a GMC Canyon two-door pickup truck parked on the side of the road.

The two Westrac employees inside told the officers that they were en route to make a bank deposit when they were intercepted by two men on a dirt bike. The assailants, armed with a gun, held the men at gunpoint and stole two bags containing an undisclosed amount of cash and cheques before fleeing the scene.

So far no one has been arrested and none of the cash has been recovered.
