We also asked Courtenay how he feels about his firm's lawyer fees charged to the government and paid from the consolidated revenue fund being disclosed to the public.

As we have been reporting, the government is taking out a lawsuit against the ombudsman after he recommended to the Attorney General that release the figures paid out to Marine Chambers and Courtenay and Coye Law Firms for the redistricting case earlier this year. This comes after Jeremy Enriquez's Freedom Of Information request was rejected, and he appealed to the ombudsman- as allowed under the law.

Today Courtenay told us that he has spoken to the AG about Enriquez's request.

Eamon Courtenay, Attorney

"Well, of course, that's a difficult one for me to answer because we are directly involved. All I would say is this, the attorney general has discussed it with me. He has given me the reasons why he thinks the interpretation by the, ombudsman is incorrect, but also the problems that it creates for the attorney general to hire any law firm. If they are going to be the disclosures, I will not say to you what my personal opinion is on the matter. I just will say that I understand the concerns of the attorney general."
