And the San Ignacio Santa Elena council isn't stopping there. The mayor says that have been working with the Police Department to increase the number of surveillance cameras in the town:

"We have been working very closely with the program that was initiated about a year ago where surveillance cameras have been installed in strategic areas within the municipalities. We have had that close communication with the police department and more often patrols on our streets. We have encouraged neighbors and residents to be vigilant and where they can install surveillance cameras that could catch culprits with crime that may have occurred in front of their homes and because of collaboration of residents we have been able to arrest several people that have done crime in our community."
