Tonight, The National Evangelical Association of Belize is speaking out about the arrests of churchgoers in Blue Creek, Orange Walk. And surprisingly they're not going gung ho on religious freedoms. Instead they've advised their Blue Creek Brothers and Sisters to obey the laws of Belize.

And in a release referring to the incident, the Association says quote: "The church disrespected the law, and the Police came to enforce the law. But for Police to come into a church with families and children, carrying automatic weapons and spouting obscenities as if the church was a cartel, was equally and terribly wrong. Disrespect was met with disrespect, and we're grateful the situation didn't deteriorate. It could have all been avoided." End quote

And while the Association is supporting COVID 19 restrictions they also say that they had warned the government of an oncoming "push-back" and a quote: "growing disdain for the law created by Government's unequal enforcement as it relates to church services, restaurants, sports, and political rallies."

And NEAB Says that while God is bigger than all these issues they are looking to the government to address disparities between economic and personal or spiritual restrictions
