It started its parliamentary journey 12 years ago - but if it were a vehicle, you might say the Occupational Health and Safety bill has moved from park to neutral. As we told you last week, after it was finally passed by the House, the Senate agreed to keep it in committee to invite the Labor Commissioner to address some of the concerns.

That happened today when the Senate met in the Committee of the Whole and invited the Commissioner and the Labour CEO to be there. But, we are told no decisions were taken and the technicians simply agreed to take on board the issues raised by the senators. Those center on the lack of a classification for domestic workers among other issues. So the bill remains in committee.
