22-year-old Keisha Wade who admitted in court to Chief Magistrate Herbert Lord that she lied in a statement she gave police was charged today with a mischievous act. Wade pleaded guilty to the charge when she appeared in court number 4. Magistrate Margaret McKenzie fiend her $200 and told her to pay it by July 5th, or in default she will to spend 2 months in jail.
On April 29 Wade gave police a statement in which she claimed that her common-law husband 41 year old Andrew Usher had touched their 4 year old daughter's genitals.
Usher was charged with aggravated assault, but when he appeared in court she stood up to say that she had made up the store because she was angry with him. Still, police are investigating, and the charge has not been withdrawn.
