They are all over sixty, all grand and great grandmothers, and the seven women we are going to introduce you to, all want to be the next Miss Y. On Saturday night the YWCA will select its fourteenth Miss Y. The annual pageant is held to raise money for the youths by having fun with the elders. But more than that, it's a way to show that older folks still have value in society and more than that, that they can be hip, clever and funny. These ladies we met yesterday are all that and more.

Jane Williams, Contestant
"My name is Jane Williams. I am here in the pageant and it is one of my friends who invited me to be here so I am happy to be here with these ladies."

Celi Muschamp, Contestant
"My name is Celi Muschamp. I am come from the beautiful village of Placencia. I am 73 years of age. I have ten kids, 9 girls and one boy. Well I like to get into things like this, especially for helping the kids them. That is reason why."

Keith Swift,
You think you will have fun on stage Saturday night?

Celi Muschamp,
"Oh yes I will."

Sarita Tillet, Contestant
"My name is Sarita Tillet and I am 62 years of age. I chose this pageant because I love to be in things like this. I have been in carnival for four consecutive years. But most of all this pageant is to help young boys and girls who didn't have the opportunity to do what the others had to do and I think by us women doing this pageant, it will be very beneficial and helpful for YWCA."

Hettimae Moody, Contestant
"My name is Hettimae Moody, I am 62 years old. I have six kids, four boys and two girls, and I am also a proud grandmother of 18. From I was young I liked things like this and at we didn't have pageants like this, we use to have entertainment in school and I always liked to take part. I don't care if I don't even win, I just want to have fun amongst the rest of ladies."

Jean Williams, Contestant
"My name is Jean Williams. I am 61 years old. I love this pageant because I got in this pageant to love and meet everyone."
