And while that 2023 remix is a dose of potent symbolism - we saw the same yesterday when Shyne Barrow did what no other UDP leader had done before: he kneeled before George Price's grave.
It was the official wreath laying ceremony to mark the 12th anniversary of the national hero's death. We asked Barrow why he did it:
Jules Vasquez
"You made a type of political history yesterday when you kneeled before the grave of George Price. I know other leaders of the opposition have duly paid respect, Dean Barrow, Patrick Faber, but usually they take a reverential position standing head down, which is acceptable. But you took it to another level. Why did you kneel before the grave of George Price?"
Shyne Barrow, Leader of the Opposition
"I didn't kneel before the grave. I was actually saying a prayer. And you know, George Cadle Price is a national hero like we have never seen and I don't know if we will ever see."

"I want to connect to that spirit, that soul, and to try to tap into that frequency and that power that they exercised while here on earth. And so it was really a prayer for Belize, a prayer for myself and all leaders who have the opportunity to strive to be like George Price."
"And even if we don't come close, just the pursuit of making the types of contributions that he made, there is no disagreement with his desire to do what is best, what was best for Belize, which is self-determination, independence, equality, social justice, all these things that we would wish that his party would be doing now."
Jules Vasquez
"A critic would say, you're fronting, like, you know, you know, really the feel that way, like, you're putting on an act, that's what a critic would say."
Shyne Barrow, Leader of the Opposition
"That's what Jules Vasquez would say, come on."
Jules Vasquez
"No, man, looks like it's a bit much."
Shyne Barrow, Leader of the Opposition
"You know, you see, all I can ever be is me. If I thought about what you would say or what my critics would say, I would not be here as opposition leader, officially prime minister in waiting. I've come a long way in my life with honesty and integrity."
"So I've never fronted, I've always been me."
